Why do leaders need to inspire? Because commitment is not easy. People would only want to do soemthing and commit it with all your heart if they believe that the time, energy and effort that they exchange for it would be worth it! To do that, you need to inspire. But how do you inspire?

By eliciting a vision of the future. Leaders need to have a vision of where they want to bring others to. To get people from where they are to where they want to go. Imagine playing football without goal posts or running a marathon without a finishing line. People wouldn't be motivated, they won't even see the point. That's why we need a vision of what things could be. To inspire us to put in the worthwhile effort.

A VISION must follow this criteria:

It's a UNIQUE

of the FUTURE

for the COMMON GOOD

for JFK it was to put a man on the moon and bring him back safely by the end of the decade

for LKY it was to build a global city metropolis out of a slump, swampy area

for NIKE it was to CRUSH ADIDAS

for FAEBOOK it was to

How can we practise this when we talk in daily life, when we are persuading people and when we want to enact dedication and commitment from others towards a worthy cause?
